Using Facebook Ads for Added Exposure

Things have changed – I’m doing Facebook Ads! I am in the processing of embracing a new marketing strategy that I have to admit, I had never been interested before.  I’d seen all the ad’s down my Facebook page but hadn’t yet considered the concept of Facebook Ads for my own business.  After reading IM Revolution by Matt Lloyd, I knew that I just had to step outside of my comfort zone and embrace this new advertising opportunity.  I believe Facebook advertising is still in its early days and those who master it now, will be leaps and bounds ahead of their competition.

I’ve committed to a very intense mentoring structure and paid some big $ to learn this process and I want to take you along the journey with me so you can too can learn to generate leads into any business.

Why Do Facebook Ads?

Did you know that more than 1/3 of Facebook users earn more than $100k per year?? And 30% earn $60-100k! That means more than 60% of Facebook users earn more than $ 60,000 per year?? So… did you THINK you might want to consider doing some Facebook Ads?

Facebook offers an advertising service that has a price attached to it but could be worthwhile to test in an effort to increase fans to your  Facebook Ads, Facebook page, promote an event, your product or service.

You can create Facebook ads using your own text and images, and you can target who will see your ads based on location, occupation, and a variety of other demographic criteria.  Ads are displayed to users who meet your criteria.

That’s why you will have noticed that all the ads that appear on your page are relevant to your interests, likes, location etc and will be completely different from another user who has different interests, likes and location.

What Do Facebook Ads Cost?

When you create Facebook ads, you determine how high you’d like to bid for space to display your ad.  Facebook uses your ad-targeting criteria and your maximum bid price to serve ads to Facebook users.  You can set up your ad so you either pay whenever someone clicks on your ad (pay per click) or whenever your ad is served (pay per impression.)  You can control your budget, so the risk is limited.  I recommend starting out at $1.00 per bid, and then adjusting this down as you get good results.  To start off with you need to keep your bid price around the $1.00 mark so that you are able to compete against others for the advertising space.  As your Facebook ads start to get show and gets clicks, then Facebook will reward you by still showing your ad, even if you reduce your bid price.

To create Facebook ads, simply click on the Advertising link at the bottom right side of any Facebook page.

The Facebook Advertising page opens up.  Next, click on the Create an Ad button near the top right of your screen to open the Advertise on Facebook page when you can enter the text for your an and upload your ad image.  Once your ad is set up, you can set your budget and configure your targeting criteria.  Facebook offers a variety of reports to help you track the performance of your ads, and you can make changes at any time in order to maximize the return on your investment.

My Results With Facebook Ads So Far..

I have been promoting two different products using Facebook Ads.  The first has had 24 new opt-ins that will be lead into a sales funnel for a $997 product.  The second lead capture page has had 22 new opt-ins and will be lead into a $297 product.    Would you like to have had 46 people join your list in the last two weeks?

My Fanpage ‘likes’ has gone from 357 to 680 and my audience reach on this page has skyrocketed from 178 people to 48,874 people.

It helps if you understand the search process a little bit.  Firstly you must be clear on what it is you have to offer, and who your target market is.  When people are looking for something on the internet, they will type one or several words into the search field.  Knowing what these words are is the first secret to ensure you make money from your blog.   When you have this answer, you can then use tools such as Google Keyword Tool and find even more keywords and keyword phrases that your target market may be searching for.

Use these keywords and phrases as the focus for all content within your site.  Write your posts to rank highly by selecting just one keyword or phrase for each separate post.

Quality Links

The second secret to make money from your blog is to sprinkle links to other highly ranking sites throughout your content.  Sometimes these can be links to affiliate offers where you will get paid a commission if a purchase is made, or it could be to another post where the reader can learn more about a topic and this next post can also include links.

Why It’s Important Not To Take Your Eye Off The Money For Too Long!

It drives me NUTS when I hear people say ‘Don’t focus on the money.”  While that may be true for some things, at the end of the day you are in business to make money. If you think otherwise, then you are running a hobby.

For so many businesses, the reason they fail is lack of cash flow. I see it all the time. It’s typical for many home based business owners to appear all happy and chirpy, but the truth of the matter is, their business is often struggling for regular cash flow and long term financial growth.

Have you ever been out for the day and started out with a purse or wallet full of cash and by the end of the day you open it up and glare with amazement at the few dollars or cents that are left? And worse still, you can hardly recall where all the money has gone?

Even though you may operate a home based business, it’s still vitally important to track where you spend your money.  You probably don’t have the same expenses a brick and mortar business has such as rent, rates, or rubbish collection, but there are plenty of expenses related to an online business that add up very quickly and can see your bank account looking like a leaky bucket at times.   Some of what I have, and you might too, are shopping cart fees, web hosting, audio hosting, video  hosting, membership sites, product purchases, email services and there’s more…..

I’m not talking here about being a scrooge. It’s about how to get more for your money.

I want to share 5 tips on how you can keep more money in your bank account and increase your cash flow with little effort at all….

Record every single expense you have related to your business. (In the interview you will hear how I take this even one step further!).  Allocate each expense into a category such as advertising, subscription services, virtual assistance, graphics, etc.  This will allow you to track how much each area of your business is costing you and you can access whether or not you need to make any changes.

Review all your subscription services.  List every site that you are paying a monthly subscription fee. This will be things like your autoresponder service, shopping cart, video or audio hosting.  Check the level of plan you are on and be sure you are only paying for the facilities you require at the time.  I recently dropped a level of service on one of these and saved myself $70 per month!  You may want to downgrade, or change providers to amalgamate with another service you already have to get the level of service you need.

Research – Sometimes, by allocating a small amount of time to research, you can often find the piece of information you need to move forward on a project by searching You Tube, Yahoo Answers or asking for help on Facebook rather than purchasing a whole product just for one tiny piece of information.  Stand firm to only order a product if you are commitment to take action and implement it into your business immediately.  Keep a spreadsheet of all the products you order and how effective your results were so you can track the return on investment.

Reach Out – Some of the best money you can spend will be to hire someone to do a task for you. This leaves you free to continue with what you are good at, and do more of the money making activities in your business.

Reward Yourself – Get excited when you reach your money goals!  Regularly set money goals that are a stretch, but at the same time achievable.  As you set these goals and implement some of the strategies we’ve talked about, you will also begin to see opportunities that will allow you to reach your money targets even quicker. Regularly take a set amount of your income and pay yourself.  You will feel rewarded for your efforts and commitment and after all, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy!

Doing what you love while running a home based business can be extremely profitable if you decide to operate every area of your business like a professional.

The choice is yours….you can fritter away your money or you can keep more of it to help others and have more fun!

The Funded Proposal

Are you familiar with the term “Funded proposal”? It’s often used as a lead marketing strategy when you market expensive products or services.

What exactly is a Funded Proposal? – A funded proposal is a marketing plan where you sell an inexpensive information product to your target market on the front end. This gets them into your funnel so you can offer them your “bigger ticket” item on the back end.

This serves two purposes:

1.  You gather highly targeted and motivated leads who have raised their hand and said, “I’m interested in what you have!” They further qualify themselves by pulling out their credit card and Buy something from you.

So this is not just someone who is curious and won’t even leave their correct email or phone number… this is someone who has a serious interest. This is a “Buyer” lead.

2.  The big advantage of using a Funded Proposal is that it generates immediate income and actually helps pay for your advertising.

Hence the term, Funded Proposal, you are funding the advertising of your business by selling a less expensive product first.

So in essence… The leads you generate from a funded proposal are paying for your advertising!

It doesn’t get any better than that!

Here’s how a Funded Proposal Works …

You advertise an inexpensive information product, anywhere from $25 to $97. It must be something of value that people in your market need.

For example … if your target market is someone who wants to make money online, a great front end product would be something that helps them to generate leads.

In fact, one of the questions I get asked most often is – “How do I get people to my website?”

So you see how learning how to generate leads and drive traffic to your website would be valuable information you can lead with and offer them an inexpensive product up front.

If the item has VALUE, then you can often up-sell your customer to other back-end products that have a higher price point.

I’m sure you see the value in this because now you are making money to pay for your advertising or front-end whether your lead joins your primary business or not.

Plus… you now have the opportunity to upsell your new client to a more expensive product or service.

The Funded Proposal business model works like a charm.

A few weeks ago as I was searching for a product to use as a funded proposal for one of my top tier businesses, a business associate sent me some information on a new product that was launching called Empower Network

You CAN Get Exactly What You Want!

Yes it’s true – you CAN get exactly what you want….

 

I’ve had to learn this the hard way myself. When I was in my early twenties, I was a good 20 kilos heavier than what was healthy for me. As much as I would moan and groan about not fitting into the latest fashions or being as slender as others, nothing changed until I took personal responsibility for my situation. When I made the decision to take the right action – boom – I got the results I was after Sure, there have been periods of time where my results have been better than others and, I choose to consistently do what it takes to maintain these results.

You cannot complain about something you’re not willing to do.

What I mean by this is that you can’t complain about not having a bigger income when you know there are some things you meed to do to get it, that you are not doing.

This relates to other things in your life too.

Quite simply, if you are not doing the work, you can’t expect to get the results.

This is actually what we can refer to as personal responsibility.

Perhaps for you it’s a relationship you don’t like or you feel that you’re in a terrible financial state. It’s easy for us to have circumstances that we are less than happy with when we aren’t taking personal responsibility in taking massive action on the opportunities that show up.

When you have a strong desire for something to be different in your life, opportunities will show up when you ask and believe.

This is when it’s important to take action in spite of whatever else is going on for you.

When you take massive action then you have personal responsibility.

Personal responsibility is being in control of the results that you create in your life.

It is sometimes a hard thing to accept, but the fact is that you create every result that you have in your life. In your business, your level of income and even the kind of relationships you have. The actions you take or the actions you don’t take, create your current reality.

The difference lies in being willing to do what others are not willing to do.

You might even know some people who are unwilling to do the work to uplevel your results.

What would it mean for you to play a much bigger game in your  business and your life? The more people you attract to work with you, the more money you make and the bigger difference you can make to other people’s life.

How do you show up in your business in relation to taking action?

  1. Complacent. Always putting action steps on the back-burner and saying you want things to be different, but not focused or determined to take action.
  2. Slow and Steady – This person has the attitude of ‘slow and steady’ will win the race. or, “You can’t take things too quickly you know.” Gets distracted easily and often concerned more about what results others are achieving, than getting on with it and achieving results for themselves.
  3. An action taker. You are always looking to take action. Seeking ways to grow and do things more effectively. Achieving exceptional results in your life and your business.

The difference between each of these types of people is being willing to do what others aren’t willing to do.

In my opinion, if you’re going to do it anyway, you may as well do it right, and do it well.

So what stops you from taking massive action?

It’s always excuses that will get in the way of you taking massive action. They’re destructive when it comes to playing a bigger game.

There are several types of excuses that I hear come up all the time. heck, I should know. After all, I’ve used many of them myself over the years. When you see opportunities come by you to make more money, you might make excuses why you can’t take up that opportunity.

Most people use “I can’t afford it”. Perhaps you’ve said that too when an opportunity has come up to attend a program or work with a mentor. The person who says this is saying ‘no’ to the opportunity they were seeking. then next week, they will turn around and book a holiday or buy a flat screen TV. This ‘I can’t afford it’ is nonsense. You will always find the means to do what is priority for you.

“I don’t have time.” This is also baloney. You can find the time. If your biggest dream was ready to be made a reality, and you had to travel to the other side of the world to ‘cash it in’, would you say “Fay, I don’t have time to go and get that”? I doubt it. Most people would say, “I’ll  clear my calendar so I can get the time to go and get that!”

When you say you do have the  time, you are choosing not to use your time to perform certain activities.

“It works for them, but it wouldn’t work for me.” This is all about your determination, focus and implementation. Everybody implements at a different rate, and if you are following a proven system, where you can see a variety of other people getting good results, then there is no reason why, if you follow the steps, you won’t achieve great results too.

These are all excuses and many more that you may use to not uplevel your results.

This is a moment in your life where you can decide to take a different course of action. Do you want it? I recommend taking massive action.

You’ve got opportunities in your life now. Use them.

It comes down to being WILLING to act differently. It’s not just thinking differently, it’s about taking bold and decisive action toward what you say you want in your business or your life. It’s about saying YES to what’s possible for you. Saying YES to the opportunities that are given to you. And then taking action. Your business, your life, your in-come will never be the same. I promise you that.

Are you frustrated that your posts fail to attract readers, comments and shares?

It can be very discouraging to produce content day in and day out if it does not get the attention it deserves.

Your goal should be that prospects are drawn to your blog like bees to a honey post.

I want to share 7 fabulous ways to spice up your posts, and get more of their attention:

1.Headline

Your headline should create interest and curiosity. You want prospects to be so curious that they can’t resist reading your content.  You will lose your visitors if your headline isn’t enticing or compelling enough.

2.Opening Paragraph

Imagine the disappointment you would feel if you read a killer headline, and then the following paragraph failed to follow through on that momentum.

After the title, your opening paragraph is the second most important part of your blog.

A great headline mixed with a lame opening is like inviting someone into your house, only to slam the door in their face as they approach. Can you imagine that?

So, open your blog posts with a bank –  tell your readers what they can expect, give them reasons to read your content, so they keep reading.

3. Formatting

Long paragraphs with no change in formatting will send your reader numb.  Use formatting such as bold, italic, and underline wisely to help with the flow of reading. The size of the font should also be suitable for people to read, without having to have their glasses case handy all the time.

4. Language

You need to make every sentence and word work for you. Cut out unnecessary words and phrases. Use everyday language. Short, simple words can convey your points far more effectively than grandiose, convoluted ones.  In fact, the readability of your blog, should be suitable for a 12 year old (even if you are writing to doctors, lawyers or other professionals).

Your subscribers will not be interested in referring to a dictionary every time they read your posts.

5. Internal Linking

You also need to link to your other relevant posts to help your readers visit more of your blog and also help Google find you other related posts and get them ranked as well so you can get more free traffic.

6. Images

Images make posts look colourful, attractive, interesting and even entertaining. Always go for funny or cute pictures. People love them.

Here is a top tip: make your images link to your capture page, fan page or another page or post. Why? Because people like clicking on images. So you could direct them to your money making pages other authority posts.

7. Solve Your Readers’ Problems

Your readers are more interested in posts which solve their problems. Study your niche and get to know your audience so you can know what their common worries and struggles are. You can use these in your posts, by empathising with how they feel and by sharing some solutions.

Here is the thing… beginner bloggers usually get excited about their brand new, stunning blogs with cool graphics and all that.

Some new bloggers get obsessed with the design and all the nice stuff, not realising that’s not what makes a blog successful.

Being excited with the idea of blogging they start writing a few posts consistently and them boom! They run out of the steam, hit the wall and then get writer’s block.

Now, even those who have been blogging for a while, go through the same thing every now and then.

They abandon their blogs and make excuses for not coming up with fresh blog post ideas to share with their readers.

A fact is, a blog without content is dead, it will not attract regular visitors, subscribers and customers. No one will take you seriously if you don’t provide content.

Connection, Conversation and Consistency to Create Lead Generation

 

Business can be as simple as one, two, three.

You really don’t need to go any further than that.  One is that you need customers or leads to connect with, two, you need to communicate with them, and three, you need to be consistent.

Today, I want to focus on the third element – consistency.

We all know that there is a never ending stream of marketing activities to help you build your list. Things like article marketing, blogging, forums, public speaking, social media, paid advertising and many more.

One of the biggest mistakes many business owners make is starting one kind of activity and then continually jumping on to the next marketing activity when they get frustrated with a lack of results.  Then what happens is they jump on to the next activity and start that for a week, or two and perhaps again, get results they are less than happy with.  Without realizing it, what’s going on here, is that they are killing any chances of building momentum.

One of the biggest keys to success is consistency. When we do something repeatedly and consistently, not only do we get really skillful at it, we also build momentum, and, send a message to our clients many might not even be aware of.

Nothing is worse than if I check your website and find you only blog occasionally. Or if I visit your social media pages only to see that your business page has not been posted on for a month.  Neither of these is being consistent.  If your potential clients find these things out about you, they can begin to be doubtful or fearful around whether or not you will be around long enough to support them.

Do you lack confidence? Be consistent. It’s amazing how much more confident you will become with this one simple change.

Often new business owners tell me they lack the time to implement their marketing plan. Our first step is to analyze where they are currently spending their time. We often see that the masterminding, skype chatting and general outings have become time vampires rather than real profit producing activities.  Realizing that it really only takes a few hours each week to write a few blog posts, to send out a regular newsletter and to keep social media updated, they can easily fit these into their schedule.

Be consistent with less….

It’s easy to feel extra pressure if you’re doing a launch of some sort, or it’s coming into a busy time of the year for you …..this is not the time to become inconsistent. Your current list is important, even if there are only a few hundred people on it. Don’t neglect them! Don’t neglect your social media followers for a week while you are ‘distracted by something big’ or they might not respond the way you want when you ‘come back’!

Unfortunately, far too many home based business owners think they can still earn enormous profits even though they want to only work when it’s ‘convenient’.  This is what I call a ‘Hobby Owner’, rather than a ‘Business Owner’.  This inconsistent behaviour can cost them an enormous amount of money.

Don’t try to do everything!  Pick just 2 or 3 of your ideal marketing activities and commit to 90 days.  For 90 days, complete these activities on a regular, consistent basis. Regardless of which activities you choose; blog, write articles, email marketing; do these consistently!  You will see a spike in your results and be amazed at the momentum you will create.

Consistency will become your best friend.

But mark my words- it’s not magic, it’s work.

If you’re willing to give it a try and do your very best everyday, you too can generate incredible results. Before you know it, you’ll have more leads and clients than you know what to do with and will need some coaching on managing all of your success.

So folks, practice consistency. Today. Start now. Be consistent!

This week, one of my clients was asking how they could make better use of LinkedIn as part of their marketing strategy. As you know, if one person is asking, then there are generally lots of others that would like the same information too.

There are many ways for businesses to reach a wider audience and gain greater exposure in the market place today than ever before. Using internet marketing for online exposure to a global audience is a quick and easy way to get momentum for your home based or small business.

LinkedIn is the largest Social Networking site for Business Professionals looking to do more business. It is possible to attract high quality clients and drive targeted traffic to your website or business opportunity.

Even before Facebook arrived, LinkedIn was already a hit with business people with it’s ability to link professionals in their specific fields with over 150 industries. This continues to make LinkedIn a rapidly growing networking site and an important piece of any marketing strategy.

Currently, LinkedIn boasts of over 120 million members and wonderful features that can help your business succeed in social networking with little effort. Other than building connections, members also have the opportunity to promote their companies, recruit new staff, recommend colleagues, search and add contacts and maintain their business network.

Here are seven helpful tips you can use. consider using them when looking to expand your network.

Create a completed and attractive profile

Initially, you need to establish your own professional profile. Make sure the details you provide are accurate, such as your company name and your real name. Being active in group discussions will let people experience your background and expertise. You can provide answers to questions that will get people thinking and help them achieve their goals. This is one effective way of increasing their interest in discovering more about the products and services that you offer. Be proactive and contribute. Share your expertise

To Develop a Millionaire Mind, Drop These 3 Habits

While so many people continue to dream of becoming a millionaire, its one place you can’t get to without having the mind of a millionaire, unless of course you win the lottery or marry into a royal family as a way to gain instant triumph.  Today’s post looks at 3 of the most common things that people do that prevents them from ever achieving financial abundance and long term wealth.

Drop Habit #1 – No One Gave Me What I Needed…

This may be the most common thing that I hear from people wanting to have success. This type of declaration is a justification. ANYTIME, and I mean, anytime, you blame your lack of achievement on ANYTHING or ANYONE other than yourself, you…will…fail. No one gave you what you needed…. Boo-Hoo! Get over it. NO ONE except YOU is responsible for your success. Not only will people NOT help you but there will be those who conspire AGAINST you! Do you think your family and friends want to see you reach incredible success? Unfortunately, they don’t. If you are to succeed, gaze in the mirror and there you will see the one and only resource you can truly count on, IF, you work at developing the mind of a millionaire.

Drop Habit #2 – You Have No Idea What I’ve Been Through…

Notice Columbus gives you the idea that you WILL have obstacles and distractions. He doesn’t say IF you have obstacles and distractions. It’s the difficult parts of life that you often learn from the most. Anyone who has achieved any level of success will tell you, it has not been without challenge to get there. It’s when things are plentiful and going smoothly that you learn the least. But what happens, is most people have a series of things that go against them and then conclude that their success was only a fluke or one off occasion. In fact, your circumstances are not what will stop you from success, it will only be YOU that can stop you.

When I was training for my triathlons, I remember my coach telling me once “Fay, when you are hurting, everyone else is hurting too.  It’s how you react to that feeling that will determine your place in the race.” Are you feeling it tough in today’s economy? Congratulations! Welcome to the majority. If you’re feeling it tough, so are most of the people around you.  Its how you choose to react that will determine your outcome.  If you focus on your pain and continually tell your story of woe, you won’t find anything gets any better. You know how annoying it can be to hear people tell a story over and over – they start to sound like a broken record. Well I bet people around you are sick of hearing about your woes too. Stop telling them, and change the record!

Drop Habit #3 – They Don’t Deserve It…

A relevant pop-psychology book from the 1980’s is If I’m So Successful, Why Do I Feel Like A Fake, subtitled The Imposter Syndrome, by Judith Bardwick. The core message of this book is that some very successful people feel like fakes because they don’t think they deserve their success and they live in fear of being found out. The real problem is that most people seem to think the success of others has come too easily for them.  Instead of recognizing their strengths and being happy for them, they will quickly explain why that person got to where they are now.

If you choose to keep pointing out the faults of those who have the lifestyle, relationships or money you desire, by separating yourself in this way, you are telling yourself that you don’t want what they have and guess what – you will never get it!

Developing the mindset of a millionaire means constantly creating a feeling of abundance. Thinking, acting and feeling all the things you dream of having will push you towards your dreams. Enjoy being amongst others who have achieved the success you desire.

The key is to take the inspiration you get from reading or listening to others who are more successful than yourself. Ensure your aspirations are realistic and stay focused on your goals.
